Pictures of the Koenigsbourg Castle in France
-
I might not put descriptions on a lot of these, because I don't know all that much about the castle, but I thought the pictures would be cool.
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
I still need to figure out how to rotate the shots and still make them look good on the site. Oh well... for now crack your neck and you will see if.
-
-
This was me trying to take a night shot of a well. Well they put this stupid grate on it, so the picture didn't turn out all that well.
-
So I rested the camera on the grate and took the picture again. That is why there are black spots in the upper right and the lower left.
-
The view here is amazing.
-
-
This is a model of the castle.
-
-
-
Crack your neck again.
-
Now the other way.
-
Now I think this was a sink, but history has never been my strong point, and archaeology is even worse.
-
The had pictures painted on the walls all over the place.
-
They were really intricate and detailed.
-
I knew my mom would kill me if I didn't get her another picture. Lets try that again with the flash.
-
This was one of the taller doorways. Most of the castle I had to duck to get in rooms.
-
This was right above the doorway.
-
Time to crack your neck again.
-
I can't believe the detail in this stuff.
-
-
-
This is inside the dining room with the flash. Sometimes it is really hard to determine when you need a flash and when you don't/
-
Some more artwork on the wall. You can see how detailed it is.
-
Dining room without the flash.
-
I think it is much better without the flash.
-
Some more incredible detailed artwork.
-
Some incredible carvings. (I didn't know they had CCTV back then.)
-
Dragon/Lizard without the flash. I took this because I thought my sister would like it.
-
Same thing with a flash.
-
Heh... I took this only because it reminded me of Pumba from The Lion King. (Hakuna Matata)
-
A bedroom. The bed is extremely small. It might not even be 5 ft long.
-
These are heaters (according to Stephanie). Supposedly you light a fire in them, but I don't know if that is all it is, or if they have water running through there as well.
-
These are incredibly detailed also.
-
We drove through that town to get up here. I think it is Orschwiller.
-
A very cool looking chest. Could you imagine how much it would cost if you were to buy one like this today??
-
Everyone to the left.
-
These next shots I was thinking of my brother, Garrison.
-
He has always seemed to be interested in this stuff.
-
Another time when it is good to have a flash.
-
A pit... yeah I don't know why they have it either.
-
This was just too funny to pass without taking a picture.
-
The view from up here is incredible.
-
I love how there is mountain after mountain. It reminds me of home.
-
I just wish it wasn't so hazy.
-
I could only imagine how much better this pictures would be if it was a completely clear day.
-
Oh... I just love it. You don't get to see views like this everyday.
-
I think you need to crack your neck again.
-
This is probably one of the most recognized part of the castle. In looking online afterwards, it seems like everyone takes a picture of this.
-
-
Now I feel bad... it seems like most of my pictures make your head go to the left. So crack your neck to the left one more time, then do a really hard one to the right (I am not responsible for any injuries).
-
This is a crank for one of the drawbridges. I wanted to get a shot of one of the drawbridges, but they weren't as pronounced as I thought they would be, so it would've been really hard to see it.
-
Picture of me at the France border. Flash + Night + Reflective Roadsign = Not a very good picture.
