Shots from Landstuhl overlooking the base
-
A picture of Ramstein Air Base, along with the northern end of Landstuhl.
-
This would be Landstuhl. The road with the orange lights is the Priority Road.
-
A night shot of Landstuhl Castle.
-
A zoomed in shot of the Flightline. Between lightpole 3 and for (from the left) is Fleet Services (my shop). And next to that is Hanger 5. One of the few hangers that can fit a C-5 in it and close the doors.
-
The three tall lights here are at the hot cargo pad. This is where any planes go that have explosive material on them.
-
A zoomed in shot of Landstuhl. The next set of lights is Kindsbach, and the lights at the upper left are for Einsiedlerhof.
-
A zoomed in shot of part of Landstuhl.
-
This is the McDonald's sign that I was trying to get a shot of from my balcony. Neither one really turned out all that well.
-
This is a small (really small) dirt road. I really wish I could hold the camera steadier.
-
Same shot, a little bit different angle (just tilt your head), but this one is much clearer.
-
These were taken just to show how narrow some of the roads can be here.
-
I figured out if you set the camera on the car, it makes it so I don't get blurry shots.
-
Notice the reflection of the buildings on the car.
-
These next couple pictures were of a building in Einsiedlerhof that had a lake in front of it (well I guess it is more like a pond). Anyway I thought the picture looked really cool.
-
There were actually a lot more than three pictures. It was unbelievable hard to get a steady picture of this place. There was a chain link fence in front of it, and my camera never wanted to focus on the building itself.
-
I just haven't figured out which one looks the best to remove it. How I ended up taking the picture was balancing a Gatorade bottle on top of my flashlight battery, and putting the camera at a point on the fence where you wouldn't see the fence itself.
-
I was trying to get a picture of the light coming off of these lights, but this is all that turned out. And I am a pack-rat of sorts, so I have a really hard time deleting things, including pictures.
-
Ok... the day shot of the Flightline. You like our makeshift lake?? (We had a lot of rain.) My dorms are on the right side just left of the white hanger.
-
Landstuhl, Kindsbach, and Einsiedlerhof, with a little bit of Kaiserslautern in the background.
-
A better view of Lanstuhl.
-
I think the town here is Ramstein-Meisenbach, but I could be wrong. Notice the windmills in the background. They are scattered all over the place.
-
Another view of Landstuhl and the base.
-
Wow... I guess some of my pictures get pretty repetitive.
-
Landstuhl Castle. Not much to look at compared to some of the others.
-
Notice the immense amount of trees here. It is this way all over the place. And you get the occasional town scattered in the mix.
-
It is hard to see but in this picture you have a C-130 taking off. It is easier to see it if you look at the runway and find the shadow, and then look up. It kinda blends in with the trees.
-
That C-130 in the air.
-
Slowly moving off in the distance. There were more taking off and I think I was trying to get more, but on such a small LCD screen on the camera, I guess I missed it.
-
I did get all three here. They have missions like this a lot, where they will have three or four take off in quick succession.
