Pictures take from my balcony.
-
These big red poles have lights that shine up onto reflectors that then shines down to the flightline.
-
The beauty of them, is it provides a lot of light to the flightline, but it doesn't blind you when you look at them.
-
This is the dorm building and courtyard that are right in front of my building.
-
Now I am just messing around with the night shot capabilities of the camera. It leaves the shutter open for about 2 seconds so you have to be really still with the camera.
-
This is a shot of a small portion of the flightline.
-
This shot I was trying to see if I could make out the McDonalds sign in the background (bright light in the center). The thing I didn't realize until I looked at the picture on the computer is that there was a plane in the background on the left. It is a C-17.
-
These are shots I took from my balcony showing the fall colors. The background is the flightline.
-
They have pretty nice facilities here. Underneath all of this is a parking garage. You can see the entrance next to the building.
-
On the right is a BBQ pit, for parties and things of that nature.
-
In the lower center you can see the stairs going down to the parking garage.
-
These next two are just to show the colors of the trees. The pictures are still taken from my balcony.
-
This is just a zoomed in picture. I placed the camera on the balcony railing so I could get a steadier picture.
-
This is a picture from my balcony trying to get the mountains in the background with all the fall leaves.
-
Just another angle.
-
This was on a semi-foggy night. I forgot to turn on night mode.
-
This is pretty much the same shot but with night mode turned on.
-
Just some more pictures of the foggy night.
-
I love my night mode feature.
-
The courtyard to my right.
-
Nope... flash doesn't work in fog.
-
The fog lightened up a little bit.
-
This one you can actually see the cloud wisps in the light.
-
During night mode the camera will take about a 2 second exposure. So those red light streaks are actually a cars taillights.
-
Prior to Christmas, this is the closets thing we had to snow.
-
Really thick frost on the trees and ground.
-
So far (as of Mid-February), this is the most snow we have gotten on base. It might've been an inch.
-
We get fog here a lot, and it looks really cool with these lights.
